  1. Generously butter a 7x11-inch pan.
  2. In a large heavy saucepan mix sugar, salt, corn syrup, peanut butter, and milk.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Cook over medium heat to soft ball stage.
  5. 238 degrees.
  6. Remove from heat; add butter and extract.
  7. Beat until mixture is thick and has lost its gloss.
  8. Pour into pan.
  9. When cooled cut into squares.
