Cheeseburgers with Crispy Onions and Horseradish Sauce
- 1 cup Canola Oil
- 1 whole Onion, Thinly Sliced
- 1/2 whole Lemon, Juiced
- 1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons Greek Yogurt (or All Mayo)
- 1 Tablespoon Horseradish
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ground Pepper
- 4 slices Cheddar Cheese
- 4 whole Hamburger Buns
- Heat the vegetable oil.
- Add the onion slices and lower heat to medium.
- Stir the onions every minute or so for about 30 minutes, until onions are browned (watch closelythey can burn quickly).
- Drain on paper towel well and lightly salt.
- Mix together the lemon juice, mayo, yogurt, and horseradish together.
- Set aside to top completed burgers.
- Heat grill to medium-high.
- Mix the meat lightly with the olive oil and salt and pepper until just combined.
- Form into 4 equal patties.
- Make an indentation in middle of each burger to ensure even cooking.
- Cook burgers for about 6 minutes per side.
- Turn grill off and add cheese to burgers.
- Also place buns on grill to lightly toast.
- Close grill and leave for 1 minute.
- Remove buns and burgers.
- Allow burgers to rest for at least 5 minutes and then assemble.
- Start by adding 1 tablespoon of sauce on bottom of each burger bun.
- Top with burger and onions.
- Enjoy!
