Candy Cane Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 375F.
  2. Combine flour, butter, cornstarch, powdered sugar and vanilla in bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture forms a dough.
  4. Divide dough into fourths.
  5. Divide each fourth into fourths, to form 16 pieces.
  6. Shape each piece into thin 15-inch rope.
  7. Cut each piece into 4 (3-inch) lengths.
  8. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  9. Shape into candy canes.
  10. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned on edges.
  11. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to cooling rack.
  12. While cookies are still warm, dip into decorator sugar.
