Mimi's Oreo Dessert Recipe
- 15 ounce. pkg. Oreo cookies
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
- 1 can Hershey's fudge sauce
- 1 pkg. Dream Whip (or possibly other dry whipped topping mix)
- Crush Oreo cookies (use blender or possibly freeze first to make them easier to crush by hand).
- Heat 1/2 c. of butter.
- Mix crushed cookies and butter and press 2/3 of the mix into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch pan.
- Cover with 1/2 gallon of ice cream that has been softened sufficient to spread easily.
- Cover with the Hershey's fudge sauce.
- (Directions on the can tells you how to heat the sauce to make it easier to spread.)
- Top with whipped topping prepared according to package directions.
- Sprinkle remaining cookie mix on top.
- Dessert tastes best when allow to freeze for 10 to 12 hrs.
