Harvest Time Apple Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Mix flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar and the cinnamon; cut in butter using pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in walnuts.
  4. Reserve 2 cups of the crumb mixture for topping; press remaining crumb mixture firmly onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking pan.
  5. Beat cream cheese and milk with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
  6. Add remaining 1/4 cup granulated sugar, the egg and vanilla; mix well.
  7. Pour over crust.
  8. Top with apples; sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
  9. Bake 30 min.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Cut into 32 bars to serve.
  12. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.
