Black forest

  1. Preheat oven 180C
  2. Beat eggs and sugar until stiff
  3. Sift flour and cocoa powder together
  4. Fold in flour mixture into the eggs gently
  5. Pour in a cake pan and bake for 15-20 min
  6. For the frosting:
  7. Melt chocolate in microwave or in bain marie .leave to cool a little
  8. Whip cream and gradually add cooled chocolate until stiff
  9. Cover and refrigerate
  10. Make the syrup by boiling water and sugar till it dissolve.
  11. Add cocoa and coffee powder and stir well.
  12. Leave to cool.
  13. When the cake has cooled down , cut into 4 layers
  14. Drizzle syrup over each layer
  15. Frost the bottom layer and place another layer on top , frost and continue the same steps with the rest
  16. Decorate the top as desired
  17. Best serve chilled
