Black forest
- 100 grams flour
- 100 grams sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 for the frosting
- 300 ml whipping cream
- 100 grams chocolate ( chopped)
- 6 glace cherries
- 1 for the syrup
- 150 ml water
- 175 grams sugar
- 2 tsp coffee
- 2 tsp cocoa
- Preheat oven 180C
- Beat eggs and sugar until stiff
- Sift flour and cocoa powder together
- Fold in flour mixture into the eggs gently
- Pour in a cake pan and bake for 15-20 min
- For the frosting:
- Melt chocolate in microwave or in bain marie .leave to cool a little
- Whip cream and gradually add cooled chocolate until stiff
- Cover and refrigerate
- Make the syrup by boiling water and sugar till it dissolve.
- Add cocoa and coffee powder and stir well.
- Leave to cool.
- When the cake has cooled down , cut into 4 layers
- Drizzle syrup over each layer
- Frost the bottom layer and place another layer on top , frost and continue the same steps with the rest
- Decorate the top as desired
- Best serve chilled
