Tamale-Style Pie
- 2 cups Bisquick
- 34 cup water
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 12 cup salsa
- 2 cups tomato juice
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- salt
- 1 pinch dried hot pepper
- 10 drops Tabasco sauce
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 tomatoes, chopped
- 14 cup sliced black olives
- 6 flour tortillas, made into crumbs in food processor
- 14 cup melted butter
- 2 cups shredded medium cheddar
- Brown ground beef and onion.
- Drain.
- Add salsa, tomato juice, chili powder, salt, dried peppers, and tabasco sauce.
- Boil until liquid is reduced.
- Remove from heat.
- Add green pepper, tomato, and olives.
- Mix Bisquick and water in 13 x 9 baking pan.
- Spread evenly over bottom of pan.
- Top with beef mixture.
- Mix ground tortillas, butter, and cheese.
- Sprinkle on top of beef mixture.
- Bake at 400 F for 30 minutes.
- Serve with dollops of sour cream.
