Pasta with Bolognese Sauce

  1. Brown ground beef in a heavy skillet over medium heat.
  2. Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Add onion, green pepper, and celery.
  5. Saute about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in sausage, beef, tomatoes, bay leaf, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer, covered, at least 40 minutes.
  8. Stir in tomato paste; simmer, covered, 15 minutes.
  9. Serve over pasta with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
