Useful Braised Burdock & Carrot
- 1 burdock root (wash well, cut into 3cm length pieces, cut it into 4 equal parts lengthwise)
- 1 carrot (peeled, cut it about the same size as burdock root)
- 1 handful dried bonito flakes (about 3~4 g)
- 3 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat, add burdock root and carrot and saute until they are coated with oil( maybe about 3~4 mins)
- Add sake, mirin, dried bonito flakes and braise with a lid until become slightly soft and still have the crunchy texture.
- Be careful not to burn it.
