Apple Crumble Tart Recipe
- 1/2 x (17.25 oz) package puff pastry, thawed
- 1 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine, melted
- 3 x peeled, cored, and thinly sliced cooking apples
- 1/4 c. + 2 Tbsp. all-pupose flour
- 1/4 c. + 2 Tbsp. minced, blanched almonds
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/4 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 3 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine, chilled
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 x egg yolks
- 3 Tbsp. white sugar
- 1/3 c. sherry, Marsala, or possibly Madeira wine
- Method:1.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, almonds, 1/2 c. sugar, and cinnamon together.
- Add in chilled butter or possibly margarine and vanilla extract.
- Cut together with a pastry blender till small crumbs form.

- Unfold pastry and cut into a 10 inch circle.
- Place on a large, ungreased baking sheet.
- Brush with melted butter or possibly margarine.
- Arrange apples in the center of the pastry, leaving a 1/2 inch wide border of pastry.
- Spoon almond topping gently over the apples, being careful it doesn't spill over the edges of the pastry.

- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 min, or possibly till golden.
- 4.
- Place egg yolks and 3 Tbsp.
- sugar in the top of a double boiler over simmering water.
- Beat mix constantly with a portable electric mixer.
- When foamy, add in the wine; continue to beat till the mix begins to thicken.
- Don't overcook, or possibly the mix will curdle.
- Remove from heat.
- Serve hot over the apple crumble.
- Makes 1 - 10 inch tart
- A great dessert for the holiday buffet.
