Herb Parmesan Bread Wreath (Christmas) Recipe
- 1 loaf frzn bread dough
- 2 tbsp. melted butter, divided
- 1/3 c. plus 1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 3/4 teaspoon crushed basil, or possibly oregano or possibly thyme
- Brush frzn loaf with 1 Tbsp.
- butter.
- Cover; thaw at room temperature 2 or possibly 3 hrs or possibly in refrigerator 6 to 10 hrs.
- Sprinkle loaf with 1/3 c. cheese; knead till well blended.
- Cut dough into thirds.
- On lightly floured surface roll each third in a 25 inch rope.
- Braid ropes together.
- Invert a custard c. or possibly small jar on greased baking sheet; grease c. or possibly jar.
- Shape braid into wreath around c. or possibly jar; healthy pinch ends together to seal.
- Brush with remaining 1 Tbsp.
- butter; sprinkle with remaining 1 Tbsp.
- cheese and the basil.
- Let rise in hot draft free place (I turn the oven on hot then turn it off and let it rise in there) 35 to 45 min till doubled.
- Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 20 min or possibly till golden brown and done.
- Remove to rack to cold.
- Makes 1 wreath.
- 16 slices.
