Brandied Pork Steak Recipe
- 1 x center-cut pork steak, cut 1-inch tick (about 1 1/2 pounds)
- 1/3 c. apple brandy
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. prepared sharp mustard
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- Trim excess fat from steak; score remaining fat at 1-inch intervals.
- Pour brandy over steak in a glass utility dish and allow to stand at room temperature for 1 hour.
- Remove steak and reserve brandy.
- Build a medium fire, or possibly set electric or possibly gas grill to medium, following manufacturer's directions.
- Grill steak, turning once, 15 min.
- While steak grills, combine reserved brandy, brown sugar, mustard and pumpkin pie spice in a small metal saucepan with flameproof handle.
- Heat on grill, stirring several times, till bubbly-warm.
- Baste steak with brown sugar mix; grill 5 min, turn and baste again; grill 5 min longer, or possibly till well glazed.
- Serve with baked sweet potatoes if you wish.
