Edd Kimber's baked figs with honey and cinnamon recipe
- 8 ripe figs, stems removed
- 3 tbsp clear honey
- 15 g (0.5oz) salted butter, diced
- 1 sprinkle ground cinnamon
- 1 handful pistachio nuts, roughly chopped, to serve
- 4 scoops ice cream or helpings of cream (optional)
- Gently squeeze the figs at the base to make them open up like a flower.
- Put into a heatproof dish (an enamel pie dish works great) or a foil tray and drizzle over the honey.
- Dot the butter over and around the figs, then sprinkle over a little cinnamon.
- Put the dish or foil tray onto the barbecue (away from the direct heat) and close the lid.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, until the fruit has softened.
