Sweet Onion and Natto Oyaki (Flat Cakes)

  1. Combine all of the ingredients except for the water in a bowl, and mix until even.
  2. Add water, and briskly fold.
  3. Grease a frying pan with oil (not listed in ingredients), heat the pan, then ladle the batter in spoonfuls onto the pan to make small coin-sized fritters.
  4. Flip them over when they brown to fry the other side, then they are done when the onions become translucent!
  5. They're tasty served with ponzu or okonomiyaki sauce.
