Caramel Turtle Cookies Recipe

  1. Mix brown sugar, margarine, water and vanilla.
  2. Stir in flour and salt till dough holds together (if dough is dry, stir in 1-2 teaspoon water).
  3. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. For each cookie, group 5 pecan halves (to create head and 4 legs like a turtle) on ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Shape dough by teaspoonfuls around caramel pcs; press firmly onto center of each group of pecans.
  5. Bake till set but not brown, 12-15 min; cold.
  6. Dip tops of cookies in chocolate glaze.
  7. Chocolate Glaze
  8. 1 c. powdered sugar1 Tbsp.
  9. water1 ounce.
  10. unsweetened chocolate, melted1 teaspoon vanilla
  11. Beat powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp.
  12. of water, the chocolate and vanilla till smooth.
  13. If necessary, stir in water 1 teaspoon at a time till desired consistency.
