Drop Scones
- 1 13 cups flour
- 14 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 cup shortening
- 34 cup evaporated milk
- Sift together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Using a food processor, pulse in the shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Stir in the evaporated milk just until mixed.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Drop scone-size scoops (1 oz) onto the parchment.
- If desired, apply an egg glaze, or sprinkle tops with granulated sugar.
- Place tray of scones in the freezer.
- Preheat oven to 425F Once preheated, transfer the scones directly to the top oven rack.
- Bake 10-12 minutes.
