Greek Style Beef Stew Recipe
- 2 lbs. lean beef stew meat, cut in 1" cubes
- 3 tbsp. oil
- 2 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 whole cloves, broken up
- 1/4 teaspoon each cinnamon & pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon each nutmeg & allspice
- 3 gloves garlic, pressed
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce.) can tomatoes, broken up
- 1/2 c. dry red wine or possibly beef broth
- 1 (16 ounce.) pkg. frzn sm. whole onions
- 10 Greek style black olives
- In Dutch oven over medium high heat, brown meat in warm oil.
- Meanwhile, combine parsley, salt, cloves, cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg and allspice.
- Add in garlic and spice mix to browned meat, then add in remaining ingredients.
- Bring to boil, cover and bake in preheated 350 degree oven 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till meat is tender.
- Makes 8 servings.
- 250 calories per serving.
