Meatballs in rich Tomato Sauce ( Dawood Basha )
- 500 grams finely minced mutton
- 2 medium onions
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup fresh parsely
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp cardamon powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil ( should cover at least 20% of the meatballs while frying )
- 5 medium fresh skinless tomatoes minced in blender ( boil the tomatoes in hot water for ease removing the skin )
- 1 can tomato paste ( 200ml )
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 5 clove finely chopped garlic
- 1 tsp salt ( or as taste )
- 1 tsp black pepper powder ( as taste )
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/4 tsp mixed spices ( if u have )
- For preparing the meatballs, put all ingredients in mincer, otherwise chopped all finely.
- Mix the minced mutton with the ingredients from step 1
- Put the remaining spices to the mixture, mix very well with hands for 10 minutes, if you see there is too much moisture add little more bread crumbs.
- Shape the meat balls like golf ball size.
- And keep in freezer for about 15 to 20 minutes
- In pan, put the vegetable oil, and keep untill its hot and ready for frying.
- Drop the meatballs one by one in High flame, after reduce to medium flame or less.
- Keep stirring slowly, be sure all sides are fried equally.
- For about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Set the meatballs aside in kitchen towel.
- And keep the oil for further use.
- We need just little for the Tomato Sauce.
- In a pot, put new vegetable oil 3 tablespoon and 1 tablespoon from the oil in step 8
- Add the chopped onions, saute for 5 minutes after add the chopped garlic
- Add salt, black pepper powder and cumin powder, saute for 4 minutes.
- Add the fresh minced tomatoes along with the tomato paste.
- Add 1 cup of hot water, simmer in very low flame with lid on for 20 minutes.
- add the turmeric, cinnamon, mixed spices, mix well and keep simmering again in low flame with lid on for another 20 minutes.
- Drop the meatballs one by one, and add more black pepper powder, add more hot water.
- Add more 2 tablespoons of oil from step 8, keep simmering again covered in very low flame for another 30 minutes.
- check the salt for taste..
- The Meatballs in rich Tomato Sauce is ready to serve with basmati white rice, or use as sauce for speghatti or macaroni.
