Good Batter (For Vegetables & Meats) Recipe

  2. Sift flour, cornmeal, salt, onion salt and baking pwdr.

  4. Combine with egg, water and oil.

  6. Beat gently.
  7. 4.
  8. Use sufficient of the water as needed to make the batter as thick as cake batter.
  9. 5.
  10. Dip vegetable slices in batter, then into warm oil.
  11. 6.
  12. Fry till brown, turn once, brown.
  13. 7.
  14. Drain on paper towels.
  15. 8.
  16. If using for fish, omit onion salt and add in 1/2 tsp.
  17. Old Bay seafood seasoning.
