- 2 1/2 cups light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups pecan halves
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups vegetable shortening
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- 1/4 cup cold water
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Set aside

- For filling, in a large mixing bowl, beat corn syrup, sugars, butter, vanilla, salt and eggs on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until well mixed.
- Pour about 1/3 of mixture into prepared dish.
- Stir pecans, chocolate chips, and coconut into remaining mixture.
- Set aside.
- For crust, stir flour and salt together in a large bowl.
- Cut in shortening with pastry blender until pea-sized.
- In a small bowl, whisk together egg, vinegar, and water.
- Pour into flour mixture.
- Work together with a fork until a ball is formed.
- Roll out on lightly floured board to a 13x9-inch rectangle.
- Carefully place over filling in dish.
- Spoon remaining filling mixture onto crust.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until center is set.
- Cool slightly .
- To serve, cut into squares.
- Garnish as desired.
