Smoky Philly-Style Grilled Cheese
- - grilled beef sirloin steaks, cut into thin strips Whole Foods 1 lb For $7.99 thru 02/09
- mixed red and green peppers, cut into thin strips, sauteed
- onions, sliced, sauteed Safeway 3 lb For $2.99 thru 02/09
- 48 each Texas toast white sandwich bread slices
- 1 cup Bull's-Eye Bold Original Barbecue Sauce
- 24 each Kraft Extra Swiss Cheese Slices
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- For each serving: Cook 2 oz.
- (60 g) meat and 1 oz.
- (30 g) each peppers and onions in small nonstick skillet on medium-high heat until heated through, stirring frequently.
- Fill 2 bread slices with meat mixture; drizzle with 2 tsp.
- (10 mL) barbecue sauce, then top with 1 cheese slice.
- Spread outside of sandwich evenly with 1 tsp.
- (5 mL) butter.
- Cook in small skillet on medium-high heat 2 to 3 min.
- on each side or until golden brown on both sides.
- Cut in half to serve.
