Eyeball Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 400F.
  2. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in bowl; set aside.
  3. Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 cup butter in bowl.
  4. Beat at medium speed until well mixed.
  5. Add all remaining cookie ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  6. Shape teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  9. Bake 7-9 minutes until or cookies are just beginning to brown.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Combine powdered sugar, 1/3 cup butter and half & half in bowl.
  12. Beat at medium speed until well mixed.
  13. Place maraschino cherries onto paper towels; pat dry.
  14. Spread about 1 teaspoon frosting onto center of each cookie.
  15. Top with 1 cherry half, rounded-side up.
  16. Press 1 chocolate chip, bottom-side up, into cherry hole.
  17. Use decorator gel to make veins.
  18. Store in loosely covered containers.
  19. *Substitute green or red candied cherries.
  20. You may be able to find blue, yellow or orange maraschino cherries in jars in some supermarkets.
