French pear cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Whisk together dry ingredients.
  3. Peel and core pears.
  4. Cut into slices.
  5. Beat eggs until foamy.
  6. Whisk in sugar and vanilla.
  7. Stir in 1/2 of the melted butter.
  8. Stir in the dry ingredients, then the remaining butter.
  9. Fold in the pears and mix until well coated in batter.
  10. Pour into a greased cake pan.
  11. Spread out evenly with a spatula.
  12. To make it pretty, you might want to arrange the pear slices neatly over the top.
  13. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
  14. Serve with a big spoonful of goat cheese whipped cream.
