Best Buttermilk Rolls Recipe
- 2 Packages yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. corn oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tbsp. butter (melted)
- Combine yeast, 1/4 c. lukewarm water and 1 Tbsp.
- sugar in large bowl; stir till yeast is dissolved.
- Set aside, sift flour, salt and soda together.
- heat buttermilk over low heat till lukewarm.
- Combine with yeast mix.
- Add in remaining sugar and corn oil, mix well.
- Add in flour mix 2 c. at a time, mix well.
- Let stand 10 min, knead for 5 min.
- Shape into rolls, place in greased pan.
- Brush top with melted butter.
- Let rise for 30 min.
- Bake in preheated 400 degrees oven for 8 to 10 min.
- Yield: 2 to 3 dozen.
