Herb Buttered Popcorn
- 3 Tablespoons Salted Butter, At Room Temperature
- 1/2 teaspoons Oregano
- 1/2 teaspoons Thyme
- 1/2 teaspoons Lime (or Lemon) Zest
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
- 1/4 cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 Tablespoon Regular Butter, For Popping The Popcorn
- 1/2 cups Popcorn Kernels
- Salt To Taste
- For the herb butter: Mash the butter until it gets softened.
- Add oregano, thyme, lime zest and pepper.
- Mash until all is combined.
- Then, add the Parmesan cheese and mince once again until all is incorporated.
- Place this mashed butter onto parchment paper.
- Wrap it and set aside.
- If you live in a place with hot weather just like mine, you can take the butter to the fridge.
- For the popcorn: Dice the herb butter into small pieces.
- Set aside.
- In a large saucepan over a medium-high heat, melt the regular butter.
- Once it is melted, add popcorn kernels.
- Stir for a while until kernels start to pop.
- Cover the saucepan with a lid.
- Once the popping slows down, turn off the heat and wait until the last popcorn kernel pops.
- Remove the lid carefully, season with salt and the diced herb butter.
- Cover the saucepan with the lid and shake it a little.
- Let the saucepan sit covered for a minute.
- Grab a large bowl and serve the popcorn in it.
