Izzy's Famous Meatloaf
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup A.1. Original Sauce
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
- 3 Tbsp. LEA & PERRINS Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tbsp. HEINZ Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup finely chopped green peppers
- 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
- 2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 carrot, finely shredded King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Mix first 6 ingredients until blended.
- Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat.
- Add onions, peppers and celery; cook and stir 4 to 5 min.
- or until crisp-tender.
- Spoon into large bowl.
- Add meat, bread crumbs, carrots, egg, black pepper and 1/2 cup tomato sauce mixture; mix just until blended.
- Shape into 9x5-inch loaf in 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray; top with 1/2 cup of the remaining tomato sauce mixture.
- Bake 1 hour 15 min.
- or until done (160F).
- Serve topped with remaining tomato sauce mixture.
