Apple Almond Tart Recipe
- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. cool unsalted butter, cut into pcs
- 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 lrg egg, beaten
- 3/4 c. sliced almonds, lightly roasted
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 lrg egg
- 1 lrg Granny Smith apple, peel & very thinly sl
- 1/3 c. apricot jam, heated and strained
- 2 Tbsp. Triple Sec liqueur
- To make the crust:In a food processor, blend together the flour, butter, and sugar till the mix resembles coarse meal.
- Add in the egg and mix together till the mix just forms a soft dough.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out into an 11-inch round and carefully fit the round into a 9-inch tart pan with a removable fluted rim.
- Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- To make the almond mix:In the food processor, finely grind the almonds with the sugar.
- Add in the butter and egg and blend till smooth.
- Spread the mix proportionately in the reserved crust.
- To make the apple mix:Arrange the apple slices on the almond mix and bake for 25 to 30 min, or possibly till the crust is golden brown.
- Let cold on a wire rack.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the jam and liqueur and brush the glaze over the hot baked tart.
- Serve.
