Broccoli Balsamico

  1. In a small bowl, whisk the vinegar, sugar, garlic, ginger, salt and pepper.
  2. Add the oil and set aside.
  3. Place the (raw) broccoli in a deep saucepan.
  4. Pour in 1/2 C water, cover and set over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook until tips of the florets are tender but the stems are still firm when pierced, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and add the balsamic mixture, pouring it down the side of the pot so it mixes with the cooking water.
  7. Return the pot to the heat and cook, stirring, until the liquid has almost completely evaporated.
  8. Serve immediately.
