Slow Cooked Country Style Ribs
- 2 lb country style ribs, trimmed of excess fat
- 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
- 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup pineapple preserves
- 1 clove crushed garlic
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp chopped parsley
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- Salt and pepper both sides of ribs.
- Ribs should be brought to room temperature before adding to slow cooker.
- Mix all the sauce ingredients together.
- Whisking is best as it helps break up the preserves and has it incorporate better into the liquids.
- Place ribs into slow cooker.
- Pour sauce over ribs.
- Cover slow cooker and turn on to low setting for 8 hours.
- Sauce should thicken some during cooking.
- I like a thicker sauce so at the end I remove sauce and place it in a large saucepan ,removing the crushed garlic clove.
- Turn saucepan to medium high and make a thickening slurry by adding 2 tablespoons of corn starch with 2 tablespoons sauce.
- Mix together and add to saucepan.
- Whisk until thickened.
- Serve over mashed potatoes or I also like to serve over buttered egg noodles.
- Place ribs onto of your accompanying side and spoon over the delicious sauce.
- Pick your favorite vegetable to go with it.
