Garbage Cake

• 2 c. applesauce
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 c. butter
• 1 c. dates, chopped
• 1 c. walnuts, chopped
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
• 1/3 tsp. salt
• 1 1/2 c. sugar
• 2 tsp. baking soda
• 2 c. all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
• 1 Tbsp. molasses

1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
2. Stir all ingredients into large bowl in order given.
3. (Butter should be soft.)
4. Mix by hand, then beat on medium speed with mixer for 2 minutes.
5. Pour into buttered 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 1 hour and 20 minutes until a toothpick comes out dry.
6. Cool, then top with cream cheese frosting.
