Mom's Sweet Ribs Recipe
- 3 or possibly 4 lbs. spareribs (pork)
- 1 lg. onion, sliced and made into rings
- Garlic salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 pound box brown sugar
- Broiler pan, lined with aluminum foil and sprayed with Pam
- Heat oven to 425 degrees.
- Place ribs upside down on broiler pan; sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.
- Distribute onion rings over ribs.
- Sprinkle 1/2 box (or possibly less, if you like) brown sugar over ribs and onions.
- Add in water to pan to cover bottom of pan (beer may be used in place of water).
- Bake in warm oven for 30 min.
- Turn ribs right side up and sprinkle with remaining sugar (less, if you like).
- Bake for an additional 30 min or possibly till toasty brown.
- Adjust heat if browning too quickly or possibly not browning sufficient.
- Beef ribs can also be used, but cook slower and longer to be sure they are tender.
