Barbara's New England Clam Chowder Recipe

  1. Place potatoes in medium saucepan.
  2. Add in sufficient cool water to cover.
  3. Bring
  4. to boil.
  5. Simmer till tender, 20 min.
  6. Drain.
  7. Cook bacon and onion in heavy 2-qt saucepan over medium-high heat till
  8. onion is tender, stirring occasionally, about 8 min.
  9. Fold in flour and cook 2 min.
  10. Add in juices from clams, bottled clam juice, cream and lowfat milk.
  11. Bring to boil.
  12. Stir in clams and potatoes and heat through.
  13. Makes about 6 c..
