Double cheese and bacon centered, crumbed meat balls.
- 800 grams beef mince
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 small green pepper finely chopped
- 4 clove garlic finely chopped
- 30 grams fresh bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 30 ml full cream milk
- 1 tbsp ground black pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 tsp bbq spice
- 10 ml olive oil
- 2 tsp chopped parsley
- 120 grams bacon
- 100 grams cream cheese
- 130 grams mature cheddar cheese grated
- 5 eggs
- 250 ml milk
- 200 grams cake flour
- 700 grams fresh bread crumbs
- Meat balls mix:
- Fry onion, garlic and green pepper with olive oil till lightly brown.
- Let cool.
- In blender mix together 30 grams bread crumbs, 1 egg, 30 ml milk and parsley
- Mix together above ingredients and remainder of meat balls ingredients
- Roll mince into balls, about the size of golf balls
- Cheese mix:
- Fry bacon and cut into small cubes and cool
- Mix bacon with cheddar and cream cheese
- Roll cheese into balls, just smaller than a ping pong ball
- Make a cup like hole in meat balls.
- Put cheese balls inside, close and roll into balls again.
- Exterior coating;
- Mix together 5 eggs and 250ml milk
- Place flour and bread crumbs into separate bawls
- Roll meat balls in flour, then milk & egg mix followed by crumbs.
- Place meat balls back in milk and egg mix followed by the crumbs again.
- You want to double crumb the meat balls
- Preheat oil in chip fryer or pot to 170C
- Deep fry for 5 minutes or till golden brown
