South Seafood Chowder Recipe
- 2 (6 1/2 ounce.) cans chopped clams (undrained)
- 1 (28 ounce.) can tomatoes (undrained), minced
- 2 c. water
- 1 lg. potato, peeled & cubed
- 2 med. onions, thinly sliced
- 1 med. green pepper, coarsely minced
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry basil
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn cut okra
- 1 pound flounder or possibly sole fillets, cut into bite-size pcs
- Drain clams, reserving liquid; set clams aside.
- Combine clam liquid and next 10 ingredients in a Dutch oven; bring to a boil.
- Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 30 min or possibly till potatoes are tender.
