Cherry-Topped Brownie Dessert Squares

  1. Heat oven to 350F Grease bottom only of 13x9 inch pan with shortening.
  2. In large bowl, stir brownie ingredients until well blended with spoon.
  3. Spread in pan.
  4. Bake 24 to 26 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean.
  5. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  6. In large bowl, beat filling ingredients until smooth.
  7. Spread over cooled brownies.
  8. Cover; refrigerate at least 2 hours or until set.
  9. To serve, spoon pie filling over top.
  10. Cut into squares.
