Easy Tuna Melt
- 4 slices White Bread
- 4 slices Pepper Jack Cheese
- 1/2 cups Sour Cream Or Mayonnaise
- 2 cans Tuna (you Could Use Pouch Tuna As Well)
- Turn oven on to broiler setting.
- Toast 4 slices of white bread in a toaster on the medium setting.
- In a bowl, combine 2 cans (drained) tuna and 1/2 cup sour cream (or mayo).
- Mix ingredients.
- Add more sour cream (or mayo) if the mixture appears too dry.
- Place the 4 slices of toasted bread on a cookie sheet.
- Spread the tuna/sour cream (or mayo) mixture onto each slice of toast.
- On top of each slice of toast/tuna spread, add 1 slice pepper jack cheese.
- Place cookie sheet in oven/broiler for about 10 or 15 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Keep an eye on it to ensure the tuna melt does not get burned.
- Note:
- I have found traditional sandwich white bread and pepper jack cheese to work best with this recipe, but feel free to experiment.
- There may be left over tuna spread depending on how much is spread on the toast, so this recipe can possibly make more than just 4 melts.
- Im not sure why toasting the bread before you put it under the broiler works so well, but Ive done it before without toasting with less than ideal results.
