Creamy Basil Fettucine
- 1/2 box whole wheat fettucine
- 6 oz white wine
- 1/2 stick salted butter
- 1/2 pints heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (14.5 oz.)
- 2 tsp pesto
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped basil
- 1/4 cup diced sauteed onions
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 2 cup cooked cut chicken breast (optional:and add at the end to pasta)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 dash italian seasoning
- 1 dash onion powder
- 1 dash dill
- melt butter with pesto and olive oil in large saucepan and add white wine
- add all pepper.sauteed onion.basil.and rest of seasonings.
- simmer for 5 minutes.
- add heavy cream.and simmer for.10 minutes.stirring frequently.
- add grated cheese and simmer an additional 5 minutes.
- gradually add the crushed tomatoes stirring frequently
- cook over medium low and simmer for 10-15
- boil pasta.
- pour sauce over fettucine....(sauce needs 10 min or so to thicken)
- enjoy!
- (toss with cooked chicken breast if desired)
