Black Walnut Apple Brownies
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 teaspoon black walnut extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups unpeeled chopped jonathan apples
- 1 cup coarsely chopped black walnut
- Spray or butter a 9x13x2" pan.
- Thoroughly combine the butter and sugars then mix in the eggs, vanilla and black walnut extracts.
- Sift or whisk the dry ingredients and stir into the first mixture.
- Fold in the apples and black walnuts.
- Bake 360 degrees.35-40 minutes, or until it tests clean when a toothpick is inserted into the center.
- Cool on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
