Praline Apple Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine apples & coffee mixture, tossing to coat well.
  3. Add brown sugar, pecans, flour, cinnamon, & nutmeg.
  4. Toss gently to coat.
  5. Fit 1 crust into a 9" pie plate.
  6. Spoon in apple mixture.
  7. Dot with butter.
  8. Brush rim with some of egg white.
  9. Cover with remaining crust.
  10. Crimp edges to seal top & bottom crusts.
  11. Cut 3-4 sits in top to vent or cut a design of your choice.
  12. Lightly brush top of crust with remaining egg white.
  13. Then sprinkle sugar over top.
  14. Bake 10 minutes; reduce oven temperature to 350F.
  15. Bake for an additional 50 minutes.
  16. Place on wire rack to cool for 30 minutes before serving.
