My Best Fruit Cake
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 lb. raisins
- 8 oz. fruit mix (candied)
- 4 oz. candied cherries
- 10 oz. fig preserves
- 1 pt. watermelon rind preserves
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. salt
- 10 eggs, well beaten
- 4 c. flour
- 8 oz. candied citron
- 4 oz. candied pineapple
- 5 oz. grape jam
- 5 oz. peach preserves
- 2 or 3 qt. nuts
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
- Cream the
- butter and sugar together and add eggs.
- Add flour and
- spices.
- In
- another bowl, mix all fruit well.
- Add nuts and sprinkle
- with
- 1/2 cup of flour.
- Add cake mix; mix well.
- Dough should drop from spoon slowly.
- Pour into 2 tube pans which
- have been well greased and floured.
- Cook 2 hours in oven that has been preheated to 300u0b0.
