Brown Sugar Pie from the Attic

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Line a 9-inch pie plate with the rolled-out crust.
  3. For a crispier crust, consider parbaking.
  4. Cream the brown sugar and butter with an electric mixer at low speed until mixed thoroughly.
  5. Add the flour, salt, milk, eggs, and vanilla to the mixture and continue to blend until smooth and mixed thoroughly.
  6. Spread the filling evenly in the crust.
  7. Bake for about 45 minutes, until the pie is a deep brown and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool on a wire rack for about 2 hours before slicing.
  9. Serve at room temperature.
