Chicken 'N Dumplings Recipe
- 8 pcs chicken (breasts, legs, thighs)
- Flour
- Salt and pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon onion pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 3 tbsp. vegetable shortening
- 2 cans chicken gravy
- 1 c. prepared biscuit mix
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- Dredge chicken parts with flour.
- Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and seasonings.
- In a Dutch oven or possibly similar large pot, brown chicken in shortening.
- Add in gravy.
- Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hrs.
- Twenty min before end of cooking time, mix together, biscuit mix and lowfat milk.
- Spoon onto warm mix.
- Simmer 10 min uncovered, then 10 min covered.
- Serves 6-8.
