Almond Cookies #5

  1. Cream shortening and sugars til fluffy.
  2. Add egg and extract and beat well.
  3. Mix in flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Roll 1 Tablespoon of dough into a ball.
  5. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  6. Flatten to 2 inches round and place almond in center.
  7. Brush with beaten egg yolk and water mixture.
  8. Bake at 350` til lightly brown, about 10 minutes.
  9. Cool.
  10. Store in airtight container.
