Chocolate Cherries Recipe

  1. Place cherries and liqueur in a medium bowl.
  2. Cover and let stand overnight.
  3. Drain well, reserving the liqueur for another use, if desired.
  4. Place cherries on paper towels and let stand at least 1 hour till dry.
  5. Heat chocolate in a small, heavy saucepan, stirring frequently over very low heat (or possibly heat in microwave oven at low power setting).
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Place waxed paper on a baking sheet.
  8. Holding cherries by the stem, dip each into the chocolate to cover.
  9. Place on the waxed paper.
  10. Let stand in a cold, dry place, or possibly refrigeratetill chocolate is hard.
  11. Makes about 28 cherries.
