Easy Mozerella Cheese Sticks
- 1 packages mozerella string cheese sticks (I like to use Sargento brand)
- 2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 oil for frying
- Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with either parchment paper or foil.
- Set aside.
- Remove all the string cheese sticks from the individual wrappers and cut in half to make 24 total cheese sticks.
- Set up a "dipping station."
- One bowl for flour, one bowl for panko, Italian breadcrumbs and garlic powder and another for eggs whisked with the milk.
- Roll each cheese stick in flour first (make sure to shake off excess or egg mixture wont stick), then the egg mixture and then roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Dip it again in the egg mixture (double dip!)
- and then back into the breadcrumb mixture.
- You want your breading to be thick for a nice crunch.
- Repeat for each cheese stick.
- Place on prepared baking sheet.
- Freeze the baking sheet with breaded cheese sticks for at least 1 hour so cheese doesnt melt into a huge glob when frying and breading sticks well.
- After 1 hour fry up each breadstick in oil on medium high heat until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve with marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
- Enjoy!
