Mom's 70's Skyline Chili
- 1 quart water
- 2 medium onions, grated
- 2 can (8-ounce) tomato sauce
- 6 whole allspice
- 6 whole cloves
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 4 tbsp chili powder
- 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate or 1 tablespoon of cocoa
- 2 lb 93% lean ground beef
- 4 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 large bay leaf
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sweet paprika
- Add the water and ground beef to a 4-quart pot.
- Bring to a low boil and cook for 30 minutes until the ground beef separated into a fine texture and the pink disappears.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to the pot.
- Stir to combine and bring to a hard boil.
- Back the heat off to a simmer.
- Cook covered for 2 hours and the uncovered for about 1 hour to the desired consistency.
- Serve in cheese coneys or chili spaghetti.
