Jane Grigson's Peas In the Pod
- 2 pounds fresh young peas in their pods
- 1 cup butter
- Boil peas in their pods in salted water for 10 minutes.
- Drain and place in one or two bowls.
- Melt butter over low heat and place in two or more bowls.
- To eat, take a pod by the stem, dip it into the butter and suck the peas out while scraping the thin, sweet layer of the pod.
