Super Cheap! A Simple and Delicious Tofu Okonomiyaki

  1. Shred the cabbage and mince the green onion.
  2. Mix the egg and water.
  3. Put the flour in a bowl and add the egg and tofu.
  4. Whip with a whisk and season with dashi stock granules, salt and pepper, and soy sauce.
  5. Use chopsticks from here.
  6. Add the cabbage and leek in two batches.
  7. Add cheese if available.
  8. Heat oil in a pan, cook the batter, and cover with a lid for 7 minutes.
  9. When one side of the okonomiyaki starts to brown, flip it over and cook for another 5 minutes covered with a lid.
  10. Flip it over again and cook over high heat without the lid for 2 minutes.
  11. Squirt okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, or ponzu if you prefer.
