Super Cheap! A Simple and Delicious Tofu Okonomiyaki
- 1/3 Cabbage
- 1 block Tofu
- 1 Egg
- 50 ml Water
- 100 grams Flour
- 8 shakes Salt and pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp Dashi stock granules
- 1 tsp Soy sauce
- 1 Japanese leek (if you have)
- 1 Cheese (if you have)
- 1 Okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise
- Shred the cabbage and mince the green onion.
- Mix the egg and water.
- Put the flour in a bowl and add the egg and tofu.
- Whip with a whisk and season with dashi stock granules, salt and pepper, and soy sauce.
- Use chopsticks from here.
- Add the cabbage and leek in two batches.
- Add cheese if available.
- Heat oil in a pan, cook the batter, and cover with a lid for 7 minutes.
- When one side of the okonomiyaki starts to brown, flip it over and cook for another 5 minutes covered with a lid.
- Flip it over again and cook over high heat without the lid for 2 minutes.
- Squirt okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, or ponzu if you prefer.
