True Shortbread
- 1 lb butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 cups white flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add flour, and beat until combined.
- Add Vanilla.
- If using a ceramic pan, press dough into pan and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.
- If you prefer to roll it separate the dough into two halves and roll each half in wax paper and refrigerate for at least 2 hours Then slice into cookies and bake for about 12- 15 minutes.
- A real Scottish Christmas treat!
