Homemade Granola
- 3 cups Thick Rolled Oats
- 1- 1/2 cup Sweetened Coconut Flakes
- 4 ounces, weight Sliced Almonds
- 1/2 cups Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cups Maple Syrup
- 1/2 cups Wheat Germ, Lightly Toasted
- 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1 whole Egg White, Beaten
- 1/2 cups Dried Cherries
- 1/2 cups Dried Blueberries
- Mix everything but the dried cherries and berries into a mixing bowl, and make sure everything is nicely combined.
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F and layer the granola mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, or use your Silpat if you have one.
- This ensures a more even baking process.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, taking the granola out of the oven halfway through to gently stir, evening it out before placing back into the oven.
- Take a peek 45 minutes into the baking process and make sure it is nice and toasted.
- Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl, add in the berries, and give it a good mix.
- Store the granola into an airtight container.
- This should last you a good week or so, if it lasts that long.
- This granola is not too sweet, and has all of those wonderful flavors and textures you expect in a great granola.
- Hope you enjoy.
